Upcycling with Kintsugi

My friend Ozge Cone broke her plant’s pot and instead of throwing it away, mended it into this beautiful artifact, taking a cue from the Japanese kintsugi method. She first glued the broken pieces together and then lined them with silver paint (rather than the traditional gold). She said it was really easy to make.

Kintsugi celebrates each artifact’s unique history by emphasizing its fractures rather than disguising them. It often makes the repaired piece even more beautiful than the original, revitalizing it with new life – and preventing it to go to waste 🌹
